A privilege that man does not have without the bounds of government and without interference of other men is not one that is proper of a government to instill and uphold within it's bounds. Those that man enjoys naturally, without intervention from government or others, are those natural rights granted by God and bestowed upon all men equally without discrimination. The protection of these rights is the sole reason and purpose of creating and maintaining a government. Any extension of a government's role beyond this is improper.
As man's creation, it is his responsibility to his fellow man and God to keep government true to it's proper role.

In the crisis through which we are now passing, we have been fully warned. There are some of us who do not want to hear the message. It embarrasses us. The things which are threatening our lives, our welfare, our freedoms are the very things some of us have been condoning. Many do not want to be disturbed as they continue to enjoy their comfortable complacency. There can be no neutrality! We are, or we are not, on the side of the Lord! (Ezra Taft Benson, 1973)
