I Support Veterans & American Legion, Not Obama

The other day I heard that the leader of the American Legion met with Pres. Obama and discussed health insurance and govt. coverage of medical needs for veterans. The Legion leader was enraged with Obama's words and actions. Obama wants the veterans to get financial payment for their medical treatment and needs from their private health insurance. Yet, it is the at the governments bidding and service and duty that these valiant young men and women make the most ultimate sacrifices out of all citizens in service to our country and citizens. This is a complete absurdity; a travesty, that the leader of the free world, the prs. of the U.S. does not even make it a priority to provide for and care for the best and most deserving among us, yet spends more money that we dont even have yet, to fund those that have made poor decisions.

So, for my facebook status today I have "Hyrum supports my fellow veterans and the American Legion, not Obama."

Glen Beck's 912 Project and Tea Parties

On Glen Beck's show tonight, 20090320, on Fox News, he talked about a project of his, The 912 Project. Here's the link:

He also had on a guy who posted a video of himself as Thomas Paine talking to the citizens of the US to stand up for what is being done to us. Then he had the guy on his show for an interview. The guy said to send tea bags via mail to congress, but take the tea bag out and only include the string with label because the mail service is throwing the letters that have the bags in them away. He said that they would still get the message.

We're having a Tea Party here on Sunday at Solomons Island Pavilion in Solomons MD at 1430 on Sunday March 22 2009.

- I went on to the912project.com and added my name in support of the cause and idea. It took me to http://intensedebate.com/signup. Here I learned about a gravater when I uploaded my mug shot or avatar. see http://en.gravatar.com/. Its an avatar that will work from multiple sites.

He also promoted the 30 yr book The 5000 year leep that he has re-released and it is currently number 1 on Amazon.

Sarah Palin supports Special Olympics - pres mocks

This is a relatively old post, from Jan 6 2009 - its by a british person apparently who is just flabbergasted on the "victory" of Obama.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2185158/posts

I ran across it while looking through comments on a Sarah Palin video at the Susan B Anthony group page on facebook where Sarah is accompanied by her youngest daughter and youngest son Trig who has Downs Syndrom; she is advocating the Special Olympics.

The extra kick to the timing of Sarah's video is that on the same day, that night, March 19 2009, Obama went on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and made a joke about his bowling skills that it was like he was trying out for the Special Olympics or something.

Really, I can't believe that a sitting president would take the time to travel to and appear on a tv comedy show, talk about how he's improving his bowling game, and make fun of special needs children. I am flabbergasted more and more every day!

new documentary: Brothers at War

I haven't seen this yet, but I learned about it via the Hannity Show tonight, March 20 2009. I had learned about it before, somewhere surfing the net, but not sure where.

Anyway, this looks like a very well done documentary. It was filmed from a erspctive of being embedded with the troops.

http://brothersatwarmovie.com/

I'll come back and tell you more about it after I see it. But hey, don't wait for me; go out and see it.

Ezra Taft Benson: The Proper Role of Government

As you may know, from the title of this blog, and the quote above and below, I'm a big fan of Ezra Taft Benson.

The first political article that I read of his was "The Proper Role of Government", which actually originated as a speech. It blew me away. Such common sense. So profound. Yet, so straightforward and wasy to follow and understand. So concise and efficient. From an awsome and inspired man.

You might find it at numerous places around the web. Here's one that also has the audio o:

I hope you take the time to read it, ponder it, and share it with others.

Enjoy.

I've since purchase his book "An Enemy Hath Done This" that includes this speech along with many others. It is no longer in print, but used books can be purchased through resellers at Amazon.com and eBay.com as well as other places I'm sure.

Stop the Planned Parenthood Bailout

I learned about this on facebook. Ron Miller had joined the group. I clicked the link and also joined.

Here's the basic info from the facebook group page:

Abortion groups have submitted their 50 page proposal to the Obama-Biden transition team. At the top of the list? More taxpayer dollars for abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood.

How much more?

Over 1.5 billion dollars more!

The Abortion Bailout Package:

$1 BILLION dollars in taxpayer funding for International Abortion Groups

$700 million in taxpayer funding for “Title X” Health Clinics (aka your local Planned Parenthood affiliate)

$65 million for the UNFPA, an international aid organization connected to coercive abortion as part of China’s coercive one-child policy

Repeal the Hyde Amendment – Vastly expanding federal taxpayer funding for abortions

Include Abortion coverage in any taxpayer-subsidized national health care program

Expand taxpayer-funded abortions on military bases

Expand taxpayer-funded abortions through the Peace Corps program

Expand taxpayer-funded abortions for federal prisoners

Send a letter to your Senators today demanding that they keep your tax dollars out of the pockets of abortion providers.

SIGN THE PETITION:
http://www.stoptheabortionbailout.com

I also went to the site and completed the form to support the effort which emailed a letter to both my senators, Benjamin Cardin and Barbara Mikulski, of Maryland.

This effort is supported and sponsored by the Susan B. Anthony List at http://www.sba-list.org

Ron Miller: The Never-Ending Lie About Compassion

Ron Miller, on March 15 2009, at regularfolksunited.com, wrote a good article about how the liberals make conservatives out to be the incompassionate ones and that government is the best means to help the needy, but in reality conservatives are the most compassionate and generous; as well, that the government has so much overhead, fraud, waste, and abuse that a very small amount of each dollar that is used to help the needy actually makes it into the needy's hands.

My response on facebook is:

I can't take this guy. Everything he does and says is the opposite of what the truth is. Did O really say that? I'm sure he did. After all, he is who we thought he was and said he is.

Conservatism is about taking less from people so they are free to do more with the fruits of their own labor. Like, how about, giving to charity, or adopting a child. He wants to reduce the taxable deductions allowed for charitable contributions. Seriously, I can't take it. This is so absurd. What drives me bonkers the most is that some people still are drooling over this guy.

Hello! I gotta stop. Somebody wake me up!

I also commented at regularfolksunited.com on his post that I thought his article was very good, thoughtful, and thourough. Then included my main paragraph on conservatism from my facebook comment and thanked him.

Laughing at the fools in our federal government

I'm finally laughing myself silly. I've gone from frustrated, to furious, to giddy.

I swear half of these fools in congress and the new executive administration are just stupid and the other half are trying to push their agenda so hard and fast that they're stumbling all over the place.

Check it out:

Who is crying about how AIG is spending money?

The federal government: members of congress and the executive.

Why?

Because they don't approve with how AIG is spending their money.

Why?

Because the money AIG is spending, is money that was given to them from the federal government?

Why did the federal government give them all that money?

Because they believe that AIG is too big to fail. That it is better to steal from the people and give to AIG rather than let a failing business suffer the natural consequences of their poor decisions and bad actions.

So, why am I laughing, again?

Because the very fools that are crying are the ones who caused the situation in the first place! They chose to give them tax payer money.

So, why didn't they stipulate how AIG was to spend the money entrusted to them?

Because they are irresponsible. They didn't take the time to read the bill before they signed it.

Why not?

Don't ask me. Ask them. Contact your representatives and congress and start asking questions. Then contact the White House and ask why the executive office didn't have the leadership, fortitude, and responsibility to encourage responsible action in congress and make a careful review of the bill before he gave it his stamp of approval. I remember Obama (man, I hate to say that word) speaking in front of congress lecturing Republicans on holding up progress just because they hadn't had time to read the bill. (Is it just me, or just that just idiotic?)

Remember that we the people are the sovereign power of our country, the United States of America. If we don't unite and stand up to our monster, then we have no one else to blame.

Government is a our creation.

We created it to protect our individual unalienable god-given natural rights to life, liberty, and the use of the fruits of our labor to pursue our unique vision of happiness.

We believe that all men (meaning mankind; this includes women) are naturally endowed with these rights.

It is our duty, to our fellow man and ultimately to our posterity, to take back what has been encroached upon by government; to remind government of its limited enumerated powers and duties. We must also hold them accountable. If we do not, then we fail, and it is inevitable that our children will some day pay the ultimate sacrifice to instill a more perfect form of government, if that is possible. I say that the most perfect system was instituted by our founding fathers and the framers of our coinstitution under divine inspiration. To lay down and let the forces of the one who opposes all truth progress his plan, would be the ultimate injustice to their sacrifice on our behalf.

So, the time is now. Let us not delay. I believe we are at a pivitol moment in human history. A prolonged hesitation to take action will prove to be a substantial loss and a huge setback.

Lets start asking some more fundamental questions.

What is the proper role of government?

What are the limits to their powers, if their are any?

Who is holding the members of congress responsible for their crimes? (Yes, most of them are guilty of multiple crimes.)

We believe in a separation of government and society.

Why?

Because government by its nature is evil, so it must be limited to essntial powers and responsibilities that man's moral virtue alonw can't provide. Society is by nature good. Government can promote the general welfare of individuals, but society provides it.

Seriously people, have you been paying attention:
  • the largest spending plan in human history has been instituted by a government that was already more than 10 trillion dollars in debt
  • money taken from we the people is being used to fund Hamas that is terrorist regime that inflicts death and destruction on our long time ally Israel
  • money taken from we the people is being used to bail out failing European banks
  • money taken from we the people is being used to fund organizations that promote voter fraud
  • a tax cheat is head of the treasury and IRS
  • enemy combatant terrorists are being set free, only to reorganize and attack us again
  • we the people are being prevented from discovering, obtaining, and using natural sources of energy within our own lands and waters
  • the president of the United States is currently serving in his first executive job
  • the exective administration is afraid to call a terrorist a terrorist
  • the vice president of the United States profanes publicly
  • the president of the United States holds the office illegitimately as he is not a natural born citizen
  • the attorney general of the United States backed clemency for 16 FALN terrorists who killed American soldiers and was involved in the pardons handed out to Weather Underground domestic terrorists
  • a whole lot more ...
How did we get here? We must make it stop! NOW!

Will the Mormons Please Excommunicate Harry Reid Already?

The following is my rebuttal to some comments made about the article Will the Mormons Please Excommunicate Harry Reid Already June 7, 2006 at ldspatriot.wordpress.com

Harry Reid is a despicable human being and should not be allowed to stand within the ranks of the Elders of Israel.

Frankly, I find it hard to believe that he does.

Captain Moroni would have slain, or caused to be put to death, Harry along with the rest of the criminals in congress!

Who the hell are you John? Pull your head out of your ass!! Read some Ezra Taft Benson and re-read Alma 46 and 62.

President Benson, in his book "An Enemy Hath Done This", warned of three types of internal enemies to our free republic:

1. "Well-meaning but uninformed people who see the shortcomings of our economic system and believe they can legislate them out of existence."

2. "Self seeking men who see in government legislation a way to obtain special privileges for themselves or to restrain their competitors."

3. "a smaller group is dedicated to the overthrow of the economic and social system that is our tradition."

So, I ask you: Which category does dirty Harry fall into?

Personally I think he is mostly category 1, but somewhat category 2 as well. But, his actions also aid and abet those in category 3.

Harry Reid is an enemy to The United Sates of America and to free men and lovers of liberty everywhere. He is an embarassment and a disgrace to members of the church of Christ. His actions are far worse than one excommunicated on grounds of adultery, and therefore should be excommunicated.

As far as John's request that those of us who see the light stop attacking Reid for doing what he "thinks" is right. This is an absurd request. If what he thinks is right is actually wrong, then we have an obligation to oppose him and defend what is actually right.

By the way, why does the tired battle between Republicans and Democrats have to be drug into this? Forget party affiliation. This is about right and wrong; good and evil; principles founded on truth and those founded on falsehood and deceit. Besides it can hardly be said that either party resembles what they once were or what they stood for. A party affiliation is merely a political means to an end. Its absurd to think that all people could be divided and lumped into two categories. However, that being said, one can argue with sufficient historical proof that one party has been a better steward of the promotion and defense of individual inalienable rights of man.

The quote listed in the header of this blog is an abridgment of a quote of Ezra Taft Benson. Here it is in it's entirety:

In times as serious as these, we must not permit fear of criticism to keep us from doing our duty, even at the risk of our counsel being tabbed as political, as government becomes more and more entwined in our daily lives. In the crisis through which we are now passing, we have been fully warned. There are some of us who do not want to hear the message. It embarrasses us. The things which are threatening our lives, our welfare, our freedoms are the very things some of us have been condoning. Many do not want to be disturbed as they continue to enjoy their comfortable complacency. There can be no neutrality! We are, or we are not, on the side of the Lord! (Ezra Taft Benson, 1973)
