This is what I sent to former mayor of Houston and radio talk show host Michael Berry on facebook:

I was listening to the podcast from Mark's show the other night when you hosted and asked people to tell their stories about getting involved. Well, I'm 39 yrs old, like you, and I've always been conservative; now I think more libertarian. I'm married with 4 kids, church going, baseball coaching, boy scout leading, regular every day American. But, all I've ever done politically is to show up to vote every couple years.

Well that all changed during the last election. One day, I think it was when Romney dropped out and I wasn't too big on McCain, I looked at my wife and said "I think we'd better look into this Obama fellow"; I really knew nothing about the guy at that point. It took me all of about 45 minutes of internet research to see through the guy and know he was a silver tongued devil.

At that point I woke up from my comfortable complacency and remembered my oath I made when I enlisted in the Navy, and thought about the future for my children and decided to take action and not relent from that point on.

I started attending my local Republican committee meetings and putting up signs. I started doing research and started a blog: http://comfortablecomplacency.blogspot.com/

I write to the editor of the local newspapers from time to time, and post to community web sites. I talk with neighbors, family, parishioners, and coworkers about what's happening with our country and our liberty.

I'm now treasurer for Ron Miller running for Maryland State Senate District 27 and am the GOOOH district leader for Maryland District 5. (Hoyer's district) (GOOOH stands for Get Out of Our House. see http://www.goooh.com)

So, as you can see, I'm very much involved now.

This is my new favorite Democrat: Representative Massa from New York.
