Honduran president ousted by military - constitution upheld

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jun/28/secretary-soldiers-arrest-honduran-president/

Perhaps our military should follow this example; except, they would have to oust most of our congress as well. I ask, "WHEN?"! When will our military live up to their oath of defending our constitution from enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC? I say, it's about time! It's nice to see a society where the constitution is honored and defended. This article is a breath of fresh air and gives hope to freedom lovers the world over. Just watch, the leftist tyrannical statists will insist that this was bad and that Zelaya should be reinstated. We, and our elected leaders, should commend the military, congress, and people of Honduras; then, follow their lead!

Rep. Bachman stands for Liberty; against Tyranny, on the House floor

The new national energy tax just passed in the House will result in 2.5 million job losses every year and cost $2,000,000,000,000. Thank your congressman! This 1200 page bill was still being written when they voted on it. Don't we deserve to have our representatives read and comprehend what they are voting for? I'm not ranting, I'm just paying attention. (inspired by Minnesota Representative Michell Bachmann and posted as my status update on facebook today)

seems like a no-brainer, doesn't it. If I was elected to represent my fellow citizens, the least I would feel obligated to do, and the least that I would expect that they would want of me, is to make sure that I carefully read and comprehend anything that I vote on, in their behalf; and, to demand more time if insufficient time was given. In thiscase, 300 pages of amendments were introduced at 3:09 AM the day of the vote. Any person who voted for it is unethical, unfit for duty, has betrayed those whom they represent, and broken their oath to defend, uphold, and honor our constitution. If we the people don't hold them accountable, then who will?

Hear and watch Rep. Bachmann speak on the house floor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hd-ERDBs4ek

Michelle Bachmann is consistently speaking out for common sense and the right in the battle being waged between good and evil in the House of Representatives. She speaks about liberty and tyranny; and making a choice for one or the other. The master tyrant is Satan himself who continues to wage his war against the forces for freedom, which of course is led by Christ himself. There's nothing new under the sun going on here. It's the classic battle between good and evil, yet again, and on going.

A Witness and a Warning - 30 years later

In the wake of current events unfolding in Iran, threats from North Korea, and the rapid transformation we see unfolding within our country today, President Ezra Taft Benson's words from 30 years ago seem to be just as relevant today, if not more so, than when he uttered them.

All Christians and patriots throughout America should find his words insightful even if you are not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ezra Taft Benson (August 4, 1899 – May 30, 1994) was the thirteenth president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1985 until his death and was United States Secretary of Agriculture for both of the administrations of U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower

The quote listed in the header of this blog is an abridgment of a quote of Ezra Taft Benson. Here it is in it's entirety:

In times as serious as these, we must not permit fear of criticism to keep us from doing our duty, even at the risk of our counsel being tabbed as political, as government becomes more and more entwined in our daily lives. In the crisis through which we are now passing, we have been fully warned. There are some of us who do not want to hear the message. It embarrasses us. The things which are threatening our lives, our welfare, our freedoms are the very things some of us have been condoning. Many do not want to be disturbed as they continue to enjoy their comfortable complacency. There can be no neutrality! We are, or we are not, on the side of the Lord! (Ezra Taft Benson, 1973)
